    it's alright at the price!

This is a pretty good piece of kit for the money. You will need a reasonable compressor to drive it, and preferably a big vacuum cleaner or extractor / filter. There is no built-in filter so if you don't either add a filter or use the vacuum cleaner it will blow dust everywhere, so making the cabinet pointless! It is laborious to assemble and the instructions are not great, but there is nothing intrinsically difficult about it. You will probably need some extra parts to connect it to your compressor as the inlet is just a little barbed fitting for a maybe 6mm ID pipe. There are an extra 3 ceramic nozzles included though I have just cleaned up a very pitted aluminium casting using glass grit and it worked well. The lamp is just about bright enough and the gloves fit OK. If your hands are very more than size "L" you may need bigger gauntlets though. I can see that cleaning the grit out to change grades will take a while and need a thorough brushing as there a lot of flat surfaces to collect dust inside. So far though, it seems ok for the money.

    Entry level sandblasting cabinet

Bought this cabinet for cleaning car parts and in terms of size it does accommodates most of the items that anyone would want to shot or sand blast. The whole kit comes as a "flat pack" in a cardboard case which gives little protection against transit damage and indeed mine came with a number of the sections damaged. If you are not good at DIY or do not have some ability as a fitter then assembly may well pose a few problems. The instructions which came with my cabinet did not in all cases match the components and some re-engineering/drilling was required. Once constructed the unit certainly looks the part but that is as far as it goes as no matter how carefully you have built it, using the parts provided, you may find as I did that it leaks blast media from the panel seams and from some of the holeing. The actual blast gun and plumbing is not of fantastic quality and as the blast media is drawn into the gun by a primitive venturi arrangement you are going to need a very good high output compressor if you don't want to be stopping and starting every few seconds. Finally my experience of their customer services was exceedingly poor as, after sending them pictures of the damage, rewiring the faulty internal lamp and drilling out a number of mismatching holes, I was offered a bag of sand as compensation.

  • 220 litre blast cabinet

I consider this blast cabinet to be fair value for the cost, care needs to be taken when assembling, (I read other reviews) and used silicon mastic on all the joints from cabinet floor level downwards. I also recommend not finally tightening all the screws until the unit stands on its feet, or you might end up with a packer under one leg like me. Works well, and the full side door allows good access for larger items

  • A good cabinet at a good price..

As a budget cabinet its very good...definatly worth putting sealant on as you build.door does not seal on the top very well.ive made a chimney out of the back to aid air flow coz if you seal it well the vacuum suck in the entire cabinet and inflates the gloves...ha ha. Need to make a grit catch tray for when you open the door as alot of grit is lost in regular use..as falls from the door opening. The light is good..but mine wasn't lit all the way along.. And the foam for the viewing screen which the gkass seals against/sits on was on the inside so I had to cut it off n stick it on with silicone.. I've used the £300 + sealey cabinet and it's exactly the same performance..so for the money..faults aside it's brilliant..well worth buying.. Im using medium/course crushed glass..works well rusty calipers etc

  • Great cabinet but Instruction Manual could be improved

I won't say too much as it has already been said else before. To be sure you get the best from this cabinet you MUST watch the Youtube videos (unfortunately all US centric but in essence the same cabinet). You need to have a tube of silicon or builders caulk to seal the gaps all round inside the cabinet. The sequence you build the cabinet is very important. See Youtube. For example I cut down the tray so that it sits a couple of inches lower. Very important that you think about buying different valve hose connectors, as I had too. These are for connecting the compressor hose to the cabinet and then the inside hose to the gun.

  • Good value, fair quality, missing bits

Very good value in comparison to the same unit from Clarke. Fair quality, some panels don't align, so holes need to be extended. Seals are very poor, it is worth sealing every edge with a good quality sealant when assembling. There were some nuts and bolts missing and there was no manual, so will take a little longer to put together. Other items may be complete, but in my experience, bits were missing.

  • Needs further work before use.

Cheaper than the high street tool suppliers but that's where it ends...build quality is good but the way the bolts are located to seal the cabinet is a joke including the 2mm sealing foam that is pointless.Bolts missing on arrival and a very mediocre hose setup which could be changed. Put mine together using tiger seal and it has no leaks as previous buyers have noted this upon use.Light is poor for the size of the cabinet and is of the same size as the worktop equivalent. Don't expect to be blasting anything until 3 days after its arrived as it needs major alterations to work efficiently.

  • Shot blaster

Takes a bit of time to construct and two people would make it easier but pretty simple to do if you read through the instructions and familiarise yourself with what you are supposed to do. I haven't used the gun, but the the actual cabinet is worth the money alone. It looks a sound bit of kit to me and is a fair old size when constructed. Big enough for most suspension/car parts I would think. Tip, use a few bolts to hold the initial parts in place before getting them all in and DON'T tighten up until you have the cabinet constructed as you just need a bit of wiggle room to get the bolts through the holes and sealing strips. Like a giant meccano, if you even had one.

  • Excellent piece of kit!

Pro's: Although flat packed, this cabinet was easily put together as all the holes lined up perfectly and all the fasteners were provided. Once fully assembled this cabinet looks and works well. A normal sized bucket fits under the hopper trapdoor which allows you to change the blast media quickly and easily. This cabinet was roughly half the price that British suppliers are charging! Con's: The instruction book was only A5 size so the build diagrams were a bit on the small side so were hard to see properly! Also, there appeared to be a few diagrams missing. I had to apply some sealant to the trapdoor assembly at the bottom of the hopper as my blast media trickled out a through a small hole/gap in the joining flange. However this was an easy fix.

  • good quality

Instructions not to good, but still able to build fairly easily following diagrams and a bit of thought before assembly, particularly regarding access for bolts to sections, easier to fit plastic film to glass then glass to top section before assembly. Finish with sections at door opening end for easy access sides and base. No drilling required when assembled correctly. I found it best to lightly tighten nuts and screws until all top sections together then fit legs and bottom tray loosely to ensure unit sits well on all four legs, fitted my own dust extraction system using two cyclones to seperate dust from blast medium. Also added some extra 12volt bright led spotlight lighting for better vision when blasting.
