  • Great pickups at an amazing low price

These pickups are amazing for the price. I put them in a bleacktop tele to replace the hot alnico fender pickups. They gave me the paf sound that I wanted. Clean sounds are excellent and very responsive. Wind up the volume and the overdrive is really good. They certainly sound better than the GFS alnico II that I have used and come close to custom wound pafs I have that cost 6 times as much. Highly recommended if you're on a budget.

  • Unbeatable value!

I picked these up because I wanted something a little lower output than the ceramic based pickups in my old LP style guitar. I could not be happier. Bridge: Could be a bit hotter, the neck pickup needed to be lowered to the deck to balance between the two. Aside from that, the actual sound is phenomenal, well worth the upgrade from my cheap ceramics that came with my axe. Neck: I was actually surprised to find myself favoring the neck pickup since the upgrade. It just sounds so creamy and warm, absolutely brilliant for more ballsy licks. I would make the bridge pickup just a tiny bit hotter and keep the neck pickup exactly like it is. Overall I could not honestly hear a difference between these and pickups costing a hell of a lot more, including original '57 PAFs. I could not recommend these more highly!

  • You get what you pay for. In a good way.

Well, i tell you this much: There hasn’t been a single product I’ve bought from Vanson Guitars that i came to regret. The 57 humbucker set is just another confirmation of this. The sound can be pretty creamy, and the range of tone is very impressive. Set it with a Epiphone 500k Alpha pot wiring harness and a tubescreamer, and you’ll be toggling between Slash, Page and Bonamassa in no time.

  • 57 Alnico by Vanson

The price point here may make you think that these products are somehow inferior to many 'name' brands but you'd be a fool not to try them. I didn't want to spend a vast amount of money in my attempt to improve my relatively cheap SG type guitar, so I ordered these. The sound difference is vast, they have warmed the tone up from brittle to warm with rich tones and a perfect output for a vintage type sound with capacity to handle driven tones too. I rate these pickups very highly.

  • Seriously good pick ups.

I've fitted these in a few guitars and can highly recommend them. They sound great clean or driven. If you want the old school PAF57's tone, you won't find better pickups for twice the price.

  • Ok pickups

For a price these are very good. Only installed neck pup so far to my epi sg pro and it really made a difference. Sound is more open and responsive. Might be good to rewaxpot these but ok without. Delivery to Finland was six days which is really fast. Update. Installed bridge pup and That Rocks !! All in all better articulation and response

  • Worth at least four times as much

These went into an Epiphone SG. The difference is massive. Being AlNiCo II they will not be as hot as a '59 PAF, which are AlNiCo V, so it would take higher levels to overdrive, they compress a bit more. However, the clean tones, where they excel, are out of this world. The bridge pickup is quite bright, so it would do up to and including AC/DC very well. The fact that I use it in an SG, which are naturally bright, may have something to do with it. Anything above would be a struggle, I think, but still, it would sound excellent up to that point. The neck pickup, however, is absolutely superb. You must try it to believe it. It has been made for blues, and it is smooth as silk. Probably the best value pickups on the market, and they are giving SDs a run for their money, and maybe even beat them.

  • Great pickups.

Great pickups. A big improvement on Roswell AL5s fitted to my Harley Benton. The Neck PU is more obvious. Richer & more defined especially in lower strings.Old Roswells sound muddy in comparison.

  • Great sound.

Put them in a 2001 Epiphone Les Paul. Transformed the sound. Much more open & warm. I like them. Highly recommend.

  • Outstanding value and performance

These pickups punch way above their weight. For the price they are ridiculous value. My second set– very satisfied.
