Not for beginners!
Purple sparkle finish on the case is gorgeous. Knobs are just fine. Circuit board looks ok, but doesn't fit supplied footswitch. Circuit is fuzz face altered to run as negative earth, as such you'd almost certainly need a 470uF capacitor across the supply rails to avoid oscillation. Supplied transistors both have hfe of 44, usually considered as too low for a good fuzz face. With circuit tweaking (resistors) you'll be able to fix that. Reports say it's easy to fry the transistors when soldering, use heat sync. Supplied footswitch is 3pdt, and could bewired as true pass...essential to avoid sound of fuzz getting into bypass signal. Instructions are limited to a component list. No method supplied to fix circuit in place. To make this worthwhile you'll need to trace out schematic of the circuit board yourself. You'll have to know what you're doing. Decent enough package if you want to mess around with a fuzz face type circuit and think you know what you're doing, did I mention purple sparkle? Also I need to admit I mislaid the supplied circuit board...will replace with my own design.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Not good enough
This is the only kit I have bought that does NOT have a schematic diagram supplied with it. It is simply not good enough. Other people who have bought this kit, all agree " it needs a schematic". Sure it is a simple circuit and easy enough to work out if you have some construction experience. But that is not the point. As I have already said it is the only kit I have bought that does not have a schematic supplied with it and for that reason I cannot see myself buying anything else from this seller.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

The circuit is simple but no instruction for wiring. Need some luck for transistor. To make it sound properly, you may need to tweak some match pair transistor, add trimpot resistor for bias. Fun, cool project, but no directions and a bad transistor.
This was a fun project but the lack of directions made assembly a little more difficult than it needed to be. Of the two kits, 1 transistors tested bad and registered as a resistor. To help others with this kit, I created a wiring diagram and attached it to this review. If it doesn't show up, search google for "Wiring Diagram - Landtone Fuzz Face". One more note, be sure to get sockets for your transistors. Cheers!
