My wife and I had an opportunity to enjoy a pleasure flight in one of these lovely aircraft in the late 90s over parts of North Wales. My recollection of the flight, which was our first ever flight, was how rock steady it was in the air considering its age. This is why I wanted a model of this particular airplane for my study. Beautiful model which will sit well in one of our hangar museum display cabinets. The Rapide was to my mind the most elegant biplane airliner ever built. I never flew in AHS but had worked on and flown in one of her stable mates. Loved the sound of the Gypsy Sixes. Oxford has captured the elegance of this aircraft superbly!
