  • Best for Beginner Tolkien Readers, Pictures wirth the Purchase

A Dictionary of Tolkien defines a number of names, places, and words used and created by Tolkien himself. Though it is not as thorough as The Complete Tolkien Companion by J.E.A. Tyler, this Compilation should suffice for the novice Tolkien Fan beginning to delve deeper into the Middle-Earth Universe. Plus the illustrations with captions peppered throughout the pages are alone well worth the purchase of this book and allow the reader a beautiful interpretation of Tolkien's written descriptions of his characters. My personal favorite is the complete atlas of Middle-Earth on the inside of either cover.
