  • Highly recommend getting this book before you visit Machu Picchu

I purchased this book for the descriptions of the sights within the ruins, but got so much more! This book contains excellent tips to help you with planning your trip, such as suggesting to go to Pisac and begin your visit of the Sacred Valley immediately after purchasing your Boleto Turistico in Cuzco. Pisac is at a lower altitude than Cuzco and going the Sacred Valley first will help you acclimate to the higher altitude. The book provides suggested itineraries, including recommendations for hiking the Inca Trail. It also includes recommended sights to see when you return to Cuzco as well as when you are in Lima (if you are arriving from Lima). This book also includes other tips and helpful information...I highly recommend it!
