Just got to use it for the first time yesterday trolling for Walleye in western North Carolina. Used it with an Okuma line counter reel and a #1 Dipsy Diver. Worked great. The rod was not cumbersome, and it handled all that it encountered, even the occasional hard hitting Steel Head. More bang for the buck!
Everybody is selling Ball Bearings these days as a selling point on their reels. I have worked around sleeve bearings all my entire career and I here to tell you the can easily out last a Ball Bearing. Cleaning and properly lubricating is essential with any bearing and anybodies reel. This reel incorporate a line counter and that is what I was looking for.
