Supports four external monitors in my installation
I'd seen loads of poor reviews for this dock. But given that they can be bought quite cheaply now I thought I'd get one to try out with my Dell Inspiron laptop. After a bit of experimentation I now have four external monitors of which one is plugged into the laptop directly and three are plugged into the dock. The laptop lid is closed so that screen is not being used. There is a button on the dock to control the power to the laptop and initiate sleep, wake or boot up. I've got the speaker output coming out of the dock too, and a cable to a USB hub.
When I first received the dock I was able to update the software and, I think, some of the firmware. Some bits wouldn't update but there doesn't seem to be any detriment.
Overall I have been impressed. I reallly do like having the four monitors. I had read reports of the dock crashing the computer all the time but this has not been my experience.
