Control reliability
I only got this product as a back up. They tend to go out when the water heater is still good. I had two go out in six years on a 12 year WH. It's inconvenient to be without a WH and wait for a part to be delivered.

New valve fixed problem
Per the problem determination research, 5 blinks indicated a sensor failure and in this case, a gas valve failure. Installed unit almost 2 weeks ago to correct issue. Functioning well as of the time of this review.
