It Reaches The Parts Others Can't
I could see from the outset that it would need a very shallow profile working end to get under the well hammered in tacks on my dining chairs. After hours of enlarging and scrutinizing other brands, I could see that this particular one had a flatter prong thickness and a much more shallow angle to the 'V' shape that has to be pushed under the head of the tack. Also, the end of the tool is curved, unlike some others, which is essential to lever the tacks out. The quality of the tool is far better than I expected at this price level. It worked so well, that I managed to get the business end under each tack simply by hand pushing rather than resorting to tapping the back of the handle with a hammer. What a relief !
