I have a large amount of Bachmann EZ Track and I am preparing to build a medium sized layout in a room in my home. I have found that that EZ Track is both sturdy and reliable, and that it can be jadaptedvforbusevwith Flex track for those places where there are no efficient Solutions in the Bachmann acatalog. But these #5 switches work great and they are easily configured to a DCC powered operations by using a CDD dstaionary decoder card.

Summary: Don't buy this turnout unless you are prepared to do some filing of the switch-point rails and the frog to make it work correctly. You will also have to modify at least one piece of attaching EZ-Track. I have a Bachmann 4-4-0 American Steam DCC Central Pacific #60 Jupiter Wood Load Locomotive. It derailed *every time* when going through this turnout. After some research, I purchased a set of diamond files and filed the switch-point rails to make them thinner at the ends. This modification completely eliminated the derailing. Also, the two diverging tracks are too close together to attach EZ-Track to both! I had to remove a triangular shape from the plastic of one piece for both pieces to connect. Not sure what is "EZ" about that. This turnout is expensive, and there is no excuse for having to modify it just to make it work.Read full review
