Metcal system can't be beat
We've used the old Metcal stations for many years. They are the best power supplies and tips in the industry. We threw away our "comparable" Hakko yellow/blue stations because they simply do not heat the tips well, and even brand new tips don't keep a tin. By contrast, we have years-old Metcal tips that still work like new, heat in 5 seconds, and handle any size joint.
