If nights are cool, this unit keeps the daytime pleasant.
In a desert climate, it cools a large room, say 800 to 1000 square feet. Only con is how fast it empties the water basin. I mounted mine in a window with a garden hose supplying water. Had to add a pressure regulator set at 10 psi onto the hose to prevent drips outside the cooler housing. Also had to drill a hole in the back of the cooler and re-mount the water inlet there. We do not need an air conditioner after this installation with temperatures up to 90 degrees.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Affordable and very simple to use.

So far a really good unit
I am only giving it four stars right now as I have not had good luck with other room evaporative coolers. However, so far (3 days) it has performed very well. It is easy to operate, simple directions, just put water in, turn on unit and refill as necessary. Best room size portable cooler
1. Very low energy usage 60w on low cool 2. Very easy to clean and repair 3. Works only with low humidity 4. Pad is custom, $30 to replace. Very thick rigid cardboard. Doesnt wash salt out well. 5. Use fabric softener in cooler. 6. If you can place in window and use outside air it will be much more efficiency. 7. Powerful! It will blow you away!
It is pretty thirsty, and it could easily gulp 10 gallons of water per day. Also, the water level is hard to read, as well as the setting dial. But, this absolutely will cool at least 350 sq ft.Bonus, it's also light on electrical use. ***Evaporative coolers are NOT air conditioners. Powerful and effective evaporative cooler!
This 1300 cfm unit beats the heck out of the wimpy 300-400 cfm evaporative cooler I had before in my aviary. It's not digital, which is great since in the country, our electricity blinks on and off a few times a month, and that means resetting anything digital! The only criticism I have is that the water and ice service door is too small, which means you have to be careful about pouring into it to fill. Does what it’s supposed to do!
It’s 103 in the desert, and this evap cooler makes it bearable in my 37 motor home! Low power draw and good quality build. Replaceable pads. Hose hookup.
