Good quality & value for money
As described,seems far more sturdy and robust than previous cheaper lines, the only gripe I have is the line is smooth rather than the good old fashioned 'rope' line which I find both the pegs and prop grip to better, but I have searched everywhere and to date have found that the rope line doesn't exist with the retractable type. overall good buy and would recommend.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

How to improve a Vileda
I have had a number of these Vileda Outdoor Washing lines and I usualy get approximately one year out of them before replacing for new. All fail in the same place. At the end where the Vileda is secured to the wall to get tension on the line and secure it you have to wrap the line round the fitting on the base of the Vileda. After you have used the line for some months the plastic covering the line tends to perish and the nylon line is exposed and then twist and finally the line will not return into the housing. I am sure this design fault could be removed but then perhaps it would last to long ??????? lVerified purchase: YesCondition: New

Easy to fit and easy to use.
Bought this to replace an old line that was just a length of rope ... It looked awful and was hanging there all the time ... The Vileda line will coil back into its plastic body and has greatly improved the sitting area in the garden ... No more unsightly droopy rope to duck under ... Garden photos look so much better too ... No home should be without a Vileda retractable clothes line ... This was so good that we bought one for our Daughters garden ... Good price but issues with rewinding

Overall pleased with it and it does the job
My old retractable line lasted well over 10 years and had a stronger spring . This one works OK though .. I saw a review that suggested winding the line round the spigot to lock it caused the line to snap at that point after about a year . To avoid this I thread the line back between the unit and the fixing bracket then let the spigot just pinch the line both back and out. It makes it a bit more fiddly to put up ,but reduces wear and tear. Overall pleased with it and it does the job .. 10 years is the target !Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Space saving works well with light loads of washing but no good for heavy loads
I bought this retractable washing line as I had one in my old house. They are great if you don’t want a normal washing line as they’re space saving and can recoil when not in use. The only thing that is a disappointment is the actual line,When I do my bedding and towels it goes up and is supported by 2 line props to lift it higher but it starts too unravel it’s self so it’s not very good for any heavy loads of washing.
