As described,seems far more sturdy and robust than previous cheaper lines, the only gripe I have is the line is smooth rather than the good old fashioned 'rope' line which I find both the pegs and prop grip to better, but I have searched everywhere and to date have found that the rope line doesn't exist with the retractable type. overall good buy and would recommend.

I have had a number of these Vileda Outdoor Washing lines and I usualy get approximately one year out of them before replacing for new. All fail in the same place. At the end where the Vileda is secured to the wall to get tension on the line and secure it you have to wrap the line round the fitting on the base of the Vileda. After you have used the line for some months the plastic covering the line tends to perish and the nylon line is exposed and then twist and finally the line will not return into the housing. I am sure this design fault could be removed but then perhaps it would last to long ??????? l

Bought this to replace an old line that was just a length of rope ... It looked awful and was hanging there all the time ... The Vileda line will coil back into its plastic body and has greatly improved the sitting area in the garden ... No more unsightly droopy rope to duck under ... Garden photos look so much better too ... No home should be without a Vileda retractable clothes line ... This was so good that we bought one for our Daughters garden ... Yet another happy household !
