Mayflash F500 (+ Seimitsu buttons) is a great, cheap arcade stick alternative.
As a newcomer to classic arcade games played on the PC with a fightstick, I read all the reviews that said cheap sticks were a waste of time, and to get real quality you had to spend hundreds of dollars. Instead, I ultimately decided on the Mayflash F500 but I swapped out the stock pushbuttons for Seimitsu. I grew up on the mushy Happ switches of the old arcade cabinets, but Seimitsu buttons were a happy medium... not tiring to push, but not as lightly triggered as the Sanwa. And definitely crisper than the stock Mayflash buttons. The Seimitsu were easy to swap into the Mayflash, using only a screwdriver to remove the back panel, and needle-nose pliers to help with pulling the cable connectors. The joystick can also be swapped, so I may eventually replace it with a Seimitsu as well. The Mayflash works great with my Mac, using the shareware "USB Overdrive" utility (Google it). Affordable, Versatile, Easily-Moddable, But with a Caveat for Xbox One Users
Great base to custom mod with a ton of possible parts if you desire, but a word of warning for Xbox One users: only the original X1 controller (non-3.5mm port, non-bluetooth) will be recognized to pass the signal to an X1 console (or use the sold-seperately MagicBoots adapter), the newer controllers will not work as of August 2018, anyway. It took me 4 purchases of this fightstick before I figured it out and used a dusty, old original controller.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Very happy with it!
It has obvious short comings, (mashy buttons, slightly loose stick) but any upgrade kit would fix that and can be as custom as u want. The cabin i imagine will accommodate almost any mod or upgrade. i'll be purchasing this item again for my kids.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned
