Great upgrade for a Intel i3 CPU over a Celeron CPU
Purchased an HP Slim Desktop 290-0043w with a Intel Celeron CPU and 4 GB RAM, Windows 10 Home. Computer would screen freeze and slow until I upgraded eo an Intel i3 8100 Core 8th Gen and 12GB of Ram. HP should of never so;d it with a dog of a CPU and only 4 GB ram. The i3 comes ready to install with a heat sink / fan and thermal pate inclued. The CPU has 4 threads/ path for information to flow making it extremely fast, good enough for gaming some. The CPU uses 65 watts so it runs cool and good on energy usage. This is my 1st new computer since the Intel Pentium days and the speed of the i3 is a step up from them in speed and performance. CPU for NAS

The C.P.U. seem to just as fast as my other newer C.P.U. and other generation C.P.U. There really is not alot of difference that I can tell.
