External SSD for Mac.
Not happy with the Fusion drive in my iMac 27" so bought an Adata 500GB external SSD which connected by USB. This was a big improvement , but I couldn't afford the SSD with Thunderbolt 3 connection. Then I saw this X5, new, at half-price, on Ebay! Plugged it in, downloaded Monterey and used Migration Assistant to move everything over. It is twice as fast on Read speeds and three times as fast on Write. No more spinning beach balls....Lovely.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Thunder Bolt indeed!
Compact, plug and play for Mac (but I understand it works equally well for PC). Noticeably faster transfer rate and loading speed than thunderbolt 2. My iMac boots from it in about 5 seconds. I really feel the punch with online HD gaming; the frame rate is flawless (but take into account the graphics card of the iMac 2019 5K retina is very powerful). It gets a bit warm under load but nothing you wouldn’t expect. External thunderbolt SSDs are not cheap but it’s definitely worth the money.
