Ford Focus mk2.5 lock replacement
Ordered this kit off Ebay arrived quickly making the lock fit the key using the pins supplied looked pretty daunting. I found a couple of videos on YouTube which explain in detail how to complete this step. And I had the new lock built in around 20 mins and was just couple of bolts on latch to fit to car. Really good lock repair kit well worth£20 and about an hours work(20 mins on lock 10 mins fitting 30 mins watching YouTube videos lol) overall this kit will save you a bit of money from having a main dealer replace the locking mechanism. No Good.
Average quality. Package does not contain the 3 small pins needed when fitting the barrel. These are supplied when purchased as the pins which will already be in the old barrel break or bend when removing the old one. Worked a treat
A 3rd of the price of a genuine part. It measured a few mm different in length but fitted no problem, just had to hold a bit tighter in place whilst doing the bolts up on the main bulkhead strike plate. I didn’t bother making up the new lock, I just drilled the 3 pins in the old one (very easy) to remove my existing lock and used that using to roll pins provided to secure in place. The job to get the bonnet up to remove the old one was a pig and involved removing the covers on the bottom of the car and a lot of patients undoing the bolts a couple of mm at a time but one I had it removed it took about 10 minutes to fit the new part. Highly recommended. I would also recommend changing the small cross shaped piece of plastic that acts as a key between the two pieces for the upgraded version which is longer and solid. It does away with the anti tamper aspect but means that it won’t brake again and you could be back to square one. They’re available in Ebay for about £4. So for less than £22 I got the whole job done and upgraded at the same time. A job that a garage would have charged about £150 to £200.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Part fractionally too long to work once the grill is fitted
