I bought this for working on glasses and cutting bottles. It works fine for the glass etching. The only slight problems are that, because it’s a little chunky you might need to cut bottles in pieces so that you can make a straight cut. The tool touching the bottle means that the cutting disc doesn’t cut perpendicular to the bottle. Not a huge issue though. The other small thing is that my polishing wheels don’t attach to the mandrel, they just fly off as it spins. Because if that I’ve just been using the bullet point one and I could probably replace the mandrel cheaply if wanted to.

Only purchased this product to replace my worn out Aldi brand rotary tool that I've had for 10yrs. This product is NOT a patch on the Aldi brand. This brand Terratek is slow on maximum speed and vibrates like hell, making intricate etching and grinding a difficult task. I'd avoid buying this brand altogether and stick with the well known brands or the Aldi supermarket brand for quality when it comes into store. Conclusion: Is this item worth £25, my answer is NO. £10-£15 max. Pro's: The tool kit is quiet comprehensive. Negatives: Cheaply made hand tool. Too slow on maximum speed. Vibrates your hand to the point of numbness

I was quite happy to receive this rotary tool for the price. Unfortunately on my first attempt to use it it got so hot I couldn't even hold it. Even worse than that was the smoke coming out of the motor. I had to open the doors to my shed to let the smell out. For the money I can't even be bothered to return it as maybe I can use some of the accessories that came with it. You get what you pay for and I got something that was useless from the beginning. The rotary tool will go in the bin and I will consider I paid 25 quid for the accessories.

I was sceptical at first. A genuine Dremel costs hundreds of Pounds with all these accessories. I read the reviews and they were generally positive, so I took the plunge and bought it. I was not disappointed. Made in the UK, the build quality and the accessories are outstanding. The power unit itself is particularly robust and has 6 speed settings. Easy to handle and interchange the various accessories. I would reccomend this for those, like me, who want a reliable but inexpensive tool to improve my modelling skills. Buy it, you will not be disappointed.
