Kettle is fine but the cable is permanently connected/wired into to the kettle so the photo is misleading if not simply dishonest! The element is sealed into the bottom so the kettle is slightly bigger than the 0.4 litre of water above it and the kettle water capacity is not to the top of the kettle of course. Didn't find a better alternative short of buying a simple heating element to put in a mug of cold water.

One one occasion so far the kettle failed to switch itself off when it reached boiling point and boiling water was shooting out on the spout. It hasn’t happened again yet but I feel that I can’t trust it to auto switch off.

All delivered fine. Missing one cup but not a major problem. The small size is perfect for our small caravan. The auto-switch off works OK but it takes a while to kick in once the water is boiling. Be aware that this kettle is directly connected to power via the cable and doesn’t sit on a stand. So you likely have to unplug it to fill it with water. Which could be a pain but when you’re camping/caravaning, most things are a pain so it just adds to the quirky ‘joy’!
