Given the price I paid I simply cannot give this big softbox any less than 5 stars. I've used it on 6 paid shoots so far and it's been a godsend, but it definitely isn't perfect. The good: - Great output quality if you set it up right. - Well made, light and easy carry - Quick to set up / pack up The less good: - The stand's column passes through a zipped slit in the brolly. This unfortunately limits the downward tilt of the softbox as the edge of the slit jams up against the column itself, deforming the lower edge of the brolly. - A solo speedlite might struggle unless you can get the brolly very close to your subject. Play it safe and get a double bracket to get two speedlites in there. - I often have to partly remove the front screen to make adjustments to stand height/angle. This doesn't take long, but it is a minor hassle.Read full review

This is a budget item but better made than I expected and should last a while if treated gently. It's pretty big although well balanced on a stand. I tried 3 speedlites in it but 2 seems to be enough. The light on the front diffuser is concentrated in the centre, but in practical use, the light is nice and soft. I tried it as a front on light with the photograper sitting low in front of it and then close to the model's right side at 90 degrees with a large reflector opposite on the model's left. Used close for soft light, beware where the large catchlight falls! I plan to order the smaller 80 cms version for use in smaller spaces.

These softboxes are a steal. I bought them because, due to the unusual design, they don’t take up as much space as a big octabox would normally do. The design also means you get away with just one layer of diffusion. For greater output you can take off the diff and it works more like an umbrella. I’m using them with Godox video lights and the results are stunning.

This softbox produces a very nice light for portraits and is easy to use and set up. The light quality is best if used with a flash bracket that holds the speedlight in the middle of the brolly instead of off to one side, such as a Bowens S-mount adapter.

Super large reflector, which concentrates the light where you want it. Gives a nice even spread of light. Can even be used as a plain backdrop for small objects or 'high key' head and shoulders portraits. Easy to carry and assemble. Altogether an extremely versatile prop, well worth the money.
