I just love 4711. It is a clean crisp light fragrance. It is an amazingly great Value in this size. You can splash it on liberally and it is never too strong. I have allergies to many inexpensive and also to very expensive colognes that make my eyes water and make my nose run. I have never had any adverse effects when I wear 4711. It is still the same high quality fragrance with only the best quality ingredients that you used to only be able to find in expensive European import shops, in much smaller sizes for years. Very versatile
I bought this at the beginning of the COVID19 crisis when all the hand sanitizer vanished from the market. I read extensively about the use of cologne in Turkey and how it has curbed the infections in that country. I bought the big bottle and decanted into little spray bottles and gave to all family members to use as hand sanitizer. When you first spray it, you get a blast of very pleasant citrus that lasts for about 10-15 minutes. Then it calms down to a pleasant neroli smell and completely disappears in about an hour. It is a very refreshing cologne that can be used by both men and women. Although it has a short life span, it is worth the money if you are buying it discounted. Koelnisch Wasser is the correct name. The French renamed it Eau de Cologne, 4711 house nr.
This is a German product it is not perfume or anything in that line. It is simply a very cool refreshing flowery concoction which has a very pleasant scent. 4711 is a true cologne in a classic sense. This fragrance can be used for toiletry and fabrics. The light and airy characteristics for this fragrance makes it perfect for spring and summer. And yes, 4711 does not last too long. But that is a good thing. You get the 'fresh from the shower' smell in a bottle without the heavy perfumes used in most shower gels and body sprays.
