Readable Company History of the Rock Island
This is not a picture book of Rock Island locomotives or rolling stock. It is also not a collection of anecdotes of conductors, brakemen and engineers who worked on the Rock. This is a well-balanced and researched account of the ups and downs of the company over a century of operation. If you enjoy the story of the Union Pacific or the New York Central, you may like the drama of the first railroad bridge across the Mississippi and the struggle with bankruptcy.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned
