Well it's not any different than an ordinary Shubb apart from the slightly longer reach, so if you have a wide fret board, or your basic Shubb doesn't quite stretch, then this is for you. However, with either size of Shubb the big advantage is that you can adjust the tension, and that's important because thick and thin strings together, as on a a 12 string, need a lot of tension to hold the thin one down. There are other capos that have adjustable tension but they're far too complicated to use, and normal Kyser style capos can even have a job to stretch around a big neck, so all in all this is probably as good as it gets. It still needs a bit of fiddling with, it's not as instant as fitting a capo to a 6 string, so I'm not blown away by it, but yes, it can be made to work, so it's OK.

I really like this capo. I already own a G7th capo, but needed something for my recently acquired 12 string acoustic guitar as its fretboard is just a little too wide for the G7th. The mechanism is very simple to operate and it fits securely but also releases easily.

I bought this to use on my 12 string Eko [ 50+ years old ] I had used other capos previously with varying degrees of success. This one is by far the best I have used. It is just as effective up the arm on the 5th / 6th / 7th frets as it is on the 2nd. No buzz and no dampened strings. Once locked in place it is solid. It is not easy to re-position this with one hand but this is not really a negative for me - it may be for some. Overall a good capo at a great price.

out of all the capos that I have kyser , planet waves all manner of spring loaded types that work ok on six string guitars, this is the only one that works on my twelve string and manages to clamp all strings accurately. I have a cheap copy of a shubb capo and that definitely does not work very well. so my experience is pay the extra money and get quality and performance.
