Overall a good quality item
A good quality item for the price. Was a bit disappointed that the pole for pulling it down was too short, as I had ordered the extension due to my high ceiling. It is a bit fiddly to deploy and I need stepladders to do it, again due to the ceiling height, will need to find some sort of eye bolt or hook to screw into the bottom rung. Ladder drops at dangerous speed.
The springs on this ladder are very weak, far too weak for weight. Once the catch is pulled the ladder drops very quickly (rather dangerous) and it is quite heavy to push back up. A similar one I had in a previous house would only drop 4-5 inched than would need to be pulled down and pushing back up was a doddle as the springs assisted. In a nutshell look for a ladder with stronger springs. I suppose it is good value and well put together. Just be careful when you pull on the ring for the catch as the hatch drops a rapid rate. It nearly put my shoulder out trying to stop it and damaging the ladder and me.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
