BRASS FRONT DOOR LOCK (NOT)
The description says 'Brass front door....', and there's no brass whatsoever in the lock, just plated tin. Even the barrel and is silver plated, not even brass coloured. The keys are a bad fit and only operate the lock when turned clockwise, not anticlockwise as well. Very poor design and build. Too many Ebay sellers think brass is a colour not actually a metal alloy of copper and zinc and so many products nowadays are made from machine pressed thin steel and plated a brass looking colour, like this item.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Cheap latch
It's cheap but I knew that, I was buying cheap, the latch is OK but the cylinder is bad, I had to apply graphite lube to even make it turn, so a slightly better cylinder would make the world of a difference. The latch is worth having at the price if you want a cheap quick fix that will be done properly in the near future which is all I required but someone without any experience would end up throwing it and buying another from elsewhere.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Cheap but flimsy

Cheap and nasty.
I have marked this 5 star because it saves a lot of filling in all the fields. The truth of the matter is it is a very cheap and very nasty piece of kit. I only want secure a side gate for which it will be perfect but I would not recommend it for house security, front door etc. Normal security locks are generally substantial castings, this is very thin sheet metal stampings.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
