Better than the previous version
I bought one of these a couple of years ago and much as I liked the way it fitted in my hand, has a very safe locking mechanism and did everything I wanted it to, it was let down by the studs that hold the blade tip in place as these became loose after a lot of use and finally when cutting at an angle the studs released and the blade became loose, to the point of being unsafe.
At the price though, and being so happy with it, I bought another one...
It seems that Rolson have identified this flaw as, the recently received one has Counter-Sunk Studs, that appear to be far more secure and will take a fair degree of punishment over time.
At the end of the day, it's a great knife, IT'S CHEAP, easy to use, comfortable in the hand and, compared to screwing in a stanley blade into the handle-piece of their basic model time and time again, makes it quick and easy to cut when you need it to. If this one gets loose in 2 years time, I'll still buy another one, I like it that much .
