The wife is going black on all worktop appliances and this Smeg kettle jug looks good -matched bread bin and microwave. However being Smeg doesn't mean it's the dogs danglies. First thing was I had to keep checking to see if it was on -it was but wasn't doing much - I would say it is no quicker to boil then full size kettle we were using before. Second the handle is short and we have medium hands so our little finger isn't around the handle. Third if you fill to max then pour a cup we tend to tip it too much and water sometimes misses the cup - This could be just getting used to it I don't know. Four - after you pour your water we have found you need to wipe the spout because after just three weeks we were getting water stains down front edge of spout. Five - even after the short time we have had it the lid doesn't stay upright but drops forward a bit so you have to push it back with water tap. Does it work - Yes Was it worth it - Yes for looks Value for money - Not really unless you want the name. Read full review

This is a great looking little kettle. It’s quite a slow boil. Don’t really understand why it had to be so expensive? The brand I guess.

Great little kettle for one or two people. Boils quickly and base allows it to be held with either hand.
