Great extra heat back up
Have a number of portables including ceramic, but I still favour halogen bulb fires, they are poor at heating up rooms, but superior than most others for heating the body from say 3' away. This has a safety switch for toppling and the option to use 400w or 800w, I bought it also because it has a 3 year guarantee. Cheap & Cheerful
Not sure what else can be expected of an electric heater costing 15 pounds. It works well, with 400W and 800W modes both of which provide good amounts of heat. SupaWarm Small Halogen Heater
I have two of these heaters. The casing is much more substantial than others I have bought, and it comes with legs, which saves fiddling around to attach a base. Also takes up less room, and I can stand mine on the windowsill of my porch. I find one bar is ideal for heating this space. The other heater is used in the kitchen when the central heating is off, and the two bars are perfectly adequate. Like all halogen heaters it gives a lovely glow to the room. Another plus for me - the dog loves it! His mat is in front of the kitchen heater, and he will bask there happily for hours. From my experience halogen heaters don't have a long lifespan, but for the convenience, low running costs and pleasing ambience they give, I will stick with them. Neat, lightweight and unobtrusive
I wanted a small halogen heater so that I could keep my feet warm. This small heater is perfect. It is neat and the lower bar can be selected alone so its perfect for my feet. I have an enclosed sitting room big enough for a sofa and 2 easy chairs plus other furniture and if 2 bars are on simultaneously it will heat the room quickly and then 1 bar is enough to keep it warm without central heating on. I bought this to replace a 3-bar Halogen heater. It is one of the few GENUINE Halogen Heaters on the market, with Halogen in the tubes, making it MUCH warmer. It's a great radiant heater that my cats love to sit in front of.
