Every now and then something special pops up... this is one!
IMO Grace by Jeff Buckley (an analogue recording) is one of the greatest albums ever recorded... Jeff, like his father Tim Buckley has an outstanding voice. Unfortunately both had circumvented lives and passed in their late twenty’s... what could have been if they had lived longer? Listen to Grace for the first time and it will probably confuse you as you will have not have heard anything like it before... but listen again, then again and you will then be staggered and amazed at Jeff Buckley’s performance and technique... his vocal range is amazing and has a voice like a musical instrument on steroids! The DVD is a live performance from Chicago and Buckley proves his performance on the CD is not a bag of tricks from the recording studio... he does it live with equal gusto and his band compliment him perfectly. As far as I remember 'Grace' was voted CD of the year when it was released by many musical reviewers and magazines and deservedly so...
