A woman who deserted her family a decade earlier is invited back for her daughter's graduation and has to face up to the past. When Naomi Murdoch (Barbara Stanwyck) returns after a ten-year absence, only her daughter Lily (Lori Nelson), who has invited her, is prepared to speak to her.
