Bought this to mix with acrylic paint to custom-paint some converse shoes. The ratio of medium-to-paint is about 1:1. It helps to make the paint less stodgy and easier to work into textiles. What I especially like is that the medium’s formula means you can also use water to thin out the mixture and get great watercoulouresque effects with a sponge. I would recommend setting the paint (once dry) to really see the effects of the medium, though. Blow dry the whole piece on high for a couple of minutes, or cover it with baking paper and iron it on low-to-medium settings. The medium helps to bind the paint pigment to the fibres, so if you used enough medium, and if it works properly, the textile should then be washable and fairly safe from flaking or scratches.
