  • Factual story of life in an orphanage in the days when there were no regulations. Harrowing and often cruel regimes were a daily occurence.

A very moving story of life in an orphanage. Life was harsh and often cruel for the poor children who already had been ripped from their families. My Dad was in that orphange at the same time as the author and himself said it brought back many memories of his childhood and confirmed it as factual. Brilliant read. Have read the other books by James Stanhope Brown - always compelling.
