NB: It's a WINTER hat
I had been looking for a new hat for several years and was in line at a NY theater when I noticed someone in front of me with a hat that I really admired. It looked great! So I asked about the hat and the gentleman was kind enough to show it to me and describe it. It was the Tilly Winter Hat.
Although called a "winter" hat, I discounted that a little since it was so very light! I figured I could wear it year round. Arriving home I looked it up on Amazon and saw that everyone loved it; but I was taken aback at the price: well over $100.
So I turned to my mainstay, eBay, where I was delighted to be able to buy a new one at auction for just over $50.
When it arrived (in a large FLAT envelope - loved that), I eagerly tried it on and was thrilled! It was seriously well made and looked even better than expected.
It was late spring. No hot not cold. I wore it for a walk. Soon I was sweating profusely. This light hat is really HOT. I suppose I should really have figured that out from the name and from the fact that it was made in Canada.
So now it's sitting on my hat stand and I am eagerly looking forward to winter...
Meanwhile, I'm seriously thinking about the Tilley T5.
