It is a basic bit of kit that works and enabled me to use the DVI-D socket on my graphic card as the HDMI output had developed a fault. My monitors only have VGA and HDMI inlets and I was already using the VGA on my second monitor. Saved the cost of a new graphics card. HDMI and DVI-D are basically the same signals but DVI-D does not carry audio. That was fine as I use remote speakers and not monitor mounted speakers.
