Fails as a toaster but may be useful for testing your smoke alarms
The one thing a toaster must do is toast bread reasonably evenly on both sides, This doesn't do that.
The ends of the slots are loads hotter than the middle - the ends of the bread nearest to and furthest from the handle burn and set the smoke alarm off, whatever toasting temperature is selected.
The elements on the inside wall of each slot are much hotter than the elements on the outside, so while one side of the bread may be toasted fairly well, the other remains pale.
Yes, it is easy to clean, it probably has precise controls and does pop up and down when required, but without performing the basic function of a toaster properly, for me it's a failure.
