Nice quality and functionality
I got this because I damaged the shoe rail on my D3. Not enough to stop the hotshoe working perfectly, but enough to make fitting and removing a speedlight more awkward and needing more force than I want to use. Not doing the camera prism or the speedlight for any favours! This device sits on top of my D3 permanently now, and the locking ring holds it securely with no wobble or twisting. The speedlight pops in and out of the TF-322's shoe like a charm. All i-TTL and settings info pass straight through, it's totally transparent. The camera does not detect the unit as a flashgun itself and cause problems. It's a nice conveniently placed pc-sync socket too. Would suggest any buyer should check the firing-voltage of the gun they intend to sync to though, some of the older ones have huge (digital-circuit frying) voltages as they were made for mechanical film cameras where such things make no difference. The shoe itself and the prongs and contacts on the foot look a very nice quality and finish, and the locking pin on the SB-900 drops perfectly in. So totally safe and secure fit and no wobble. Probably does with all Nikon speedlights too, I should imagine? Quality-to-price, it's a real winner.
