Perfect for sick ferrets.
I used to have to force feed my ferret if she was sick. It was torture for both of us. I heard that Uncle Jim's Duk Soup was a must have for people with ferrets. I'm glad I gave this product a chance and bought it.
1. It is easy to prepare. I don't have to soak her kibble in hot water for an hour then mash it for a syringe feeding.
2. She likes the taste. She used to turn down food because she was too sick, even if she was hungry. It smells like KFC, and I think this is what perks up her appetite. I'll take it from her that it tastes good...
3. It is healthy. It has essential fats and proteins that ferrets need on a daily basis. But is perfect for a sick ferret that shows very little interest in food.
The main problem with her getting sick was that she would become dehydrated because she wouldn't eat or drink. This is usually why we had to go to the vet: to get an injection that would hydrate her, then get an injection for nausea which resulted from dehydration. I pay less on vet bills because she can fight most flus on her own now, and recovers more quickly.
The downside is that it is expensive, so I don't give it to her unless she is sick. If it was cheaper, I would give her a teaspoon everyday.
