This was a replacement for the same product I installed 9 years ago which is now very noisy. It's amazing how quiet it is and very easy to install / replace. Nice slimline design.

Bought this to replace older fan which did not have backdraught facility. This new fan has very poor means to stop draughts when the weather is windy. The backdraught feature consists of two very frail flaps which have one tiny holding spring that should hold the flaps shut. When the fan starts the blade air pressure opens the flaps which overcomes the spring pressure. Conversely when the fan stops the flaps should close. There are so many gaps around the flaps that a total seal is never possible. It does not stop all draughts from outside weather conditions. Build quality of this fan is very poor.

Shame on Vent Axia for putting a very poor quality product on the market . The spring is so week on backdraught shutter useless. The backdraught shutter when open extends past the tube so therefore could get caught on flexi duct.
