Safe, effective granite cleaner without a strong fragrance
In 2016 we had our kitchen refurbished. Instead of the usual laminate material, we opted for and succumbed to the expense of a bit of luxury - having granite installed. It's lovely but does require regular proper maintainance. The men from the company who expertly measured and installed it did a fantastic job.
They left a complimentary bottle of the granite spray cleaner recommended by their company.
We found it had a terribly powerful, unpleasant, persistent artificial fragrance, and we go out of our way to avoid the use of such artificial chemicals in our home, most of which are known to have deleterious effects on health.
So after some online research I decided to try a bottle of Black Diamond granite cleaner. It has only a very slight, almost undedectable fragrance which disppears almost immediately. It does an effective job and though I'd not say it's inexpensive, Lakeland sold it at the best price.
It will probably last us years because we do NOT use it daily nor anywhere near that often.
Our regular routine is cleaning the surface with a mild mixture of softened water and Ecover washing up liquid, followed by a rinse and wipe.
When we want to restore the granite's polish, we use the Black Diamond cleaner.
As stated, we find it to be safe, effective and not harmful to the sealant.
Highly recommended.
