One of the many EFE offerings of the iconic Routemaster bus but this time the coach version introduced in 1962 and kept in service by London Country after 1970.
The model is the standard metal and plastic construction held together by metal poles , these painted black on this model so as to be less obtrusive.
The livery is the National Bus Company grass green introduced from 1971 onwards and all these coach Routemaster ( classed as RMC) received it as they became due for repaint. A larger 30 ft coach ( RCL) also existed. By 1979 they were being sold back to their original owner ( London Transport) and the model reflects the condition of the real vehicle in 1976 to 1979 period.
The construction makes for a robust and durable model, the NBC livery not to everyone’s taste but it does reflect a phase in the Routemaster story which continues on !
