  • Bargain Dual Power Supply

Tenma Dual Bench Power Supply 30/5 As expected the Tenma is heavy but well balanced, I have used it for charging 24v and 12v batteries of different chemical types, run a E-Bike front hub rated at 36v all with complete ease. The Pros; Nice clear display Easy to operate Clear well layed out front panel Build feels good, but so far have not opened case, so can't comment any further Seem-less switching through transformer taps as you increase/decrease voltage Volts reach 31 per channel The Cons; Switch on from cold gives an internal thud, with analogue tramsformer and considering the total load of 10A that's to be expected Easier access to memory 5 as this requires pressing of 2 buttons Long term use; I see no reason why this should not give years of service, but because it is in the budget end of the market, I suspect the Capacitors and connections will be the first items to fail after a few years of heavy use, but both of these are easy to replace. Video; Conclusion; I have watched a few videos online one of which was a tear-down and overall it looks like the Tenma is a bargain as you get a powerful, very controllable, fairly accurate, and good display all for a low price, mines was about £130, so if you want a workhorse but cash is tight, then this one comes highly recommended
