Practical good lawn mower
This is a replacement of my old 34cm Flymo (which is my favourite brand). The lawnmower is very practical and does the job well. If i have to say something negative about it, it would be the screws that supplied to secure to handle bars, they are always the wrong size. Same thing happened to my old Flymo mower as well, I have to end up finding new screws to secure them rather than returning the whole item just because of that. Good, but has niggles that could be easily improved
This is the second Chevron model Flymo mower that I have purchased. The first lasted 9years, so I was happy to try another. The assembly is not as easy as it should be. The fixing of the lower handles to the body was not possible with the hole sizes that were provided. Even my builder could not fasten the screws into the holes. I eventually drilled out the holes to 0.5mm larger, and the screws then fitted perfectly. The fitting of the upper handles to the lower part needs two persons, one to hold the upper section in position and the other to fix the thumbscrews, otherwise they keep springing apart. The cable tidy devise totally baffles me - why provide brackets that remain tight to the handles, instead of forming a "v shape" with them, so that the whole cable can be stored in them. I used them twice and then retrieved the cable tidy from my old mower, which is a much better design and takes about 5seconds to use. The motor and the cutting width are slightly better than the old one, but the cable has been reduced in length, which is a nuisance. The height adjustment appears to be good, but I only ever use one setting, so it looks a little too complicated for a simple mower (the adjuster on my old mower broke, which is one reason why I purchased this one, so I am obviously hoping that the design has been improved) All in all I still rate the Flymo as the best electric mower on the market.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

My grass was very wet, first cut of spring and rain, but this machine cut it without much difficulty. The grass box collected and compacted very efficiently and the window made it easy to see when full. The machine is lightweight and quite easy to push (I am a 88 year old woman). Cut only once so far but I think it will be even better with shorter, drier grass. Cut with little mess
Not sure why they list is it easy to start. Of course it is, just plug in. I was going to get a battery powered mower, but comparing this, it soon became obvious that both my lawns can be cut as I'd done for years, using a cable. Other than that, the mowers were about the same, except this being much cheaper. One good touch, is the roller underneath that not only puts stripes on the lawn, but can be used to support the mower, while I go over the lawn edging, doing a job that I used to do with the strimmer. My old Flymo, was a hover one, which used to throw grass up in the air and in the summer needed protection glasses. I'm sure that the new ones don't do that, but this cut really wet grass, that I needed to do before the winter set in and it did a great job. Just a small thing, that I still need to look into, is storing. With the fixed lower handle taking up a lot of room, so trying to stand it up against the shed wall, just inside the shed door, it is taking up more room that the similar size hover.
