A good read
The story is a timeless classic which covers the lives, loves, troubles and joys of a Cornish mining family. It has recently been given a new lease of life by a television series. The book is a compelling read and gives an insight into the lives of people living in the 18th (and their descendants in the early 19th) Century,

Brilliant books
This is the second trilogy of the series and I'm only part way through. As the series is on tv at the moment I have to keep reading to stay ahead of the story. Once started it's hard to put the book down. Times are hard for the Poldarks. Ross and Demelza deserve a break and George Warleggan needs to be humbled. I will keep reading in earnest waiting in anticipation of these events. The Poldark books have it all; adventure, romance , tragedy, love and lust.

Little did I know there are 12 books in the series when I started to read book 1. All are compelling and evocative of a bygone era. Well written and spellbinding. Thoroughly good read and good value for money.
