Slick 50 saves XR2
About 45 years ago I had an XR2, I used to check oil and water levels regularly, I had lent it to my brother in-law for a few weeks while his car was in for repair, I got it back it must have developed a slight water leak which it ran short of water, out on a run it seized up while at a junction, we towed it home, when it cooled down it started up again and sounded fine. I was not happy so I took the head off to find that the pistons had not picked up at all and there were no marks on the bores. In my mind it was "Slick 50" that saved it.
