Varnish for coating CD and DVD as well
This varnish spray is also very useful for protecting ink-jet printed CDs or DVD media. It gives a nice 'grainy' finish. Spray two layers (not the bottom) and it will look like it's printed by the professional / manufacturer. It has a nice odor and it's not aggressive and it won't damage the media like some other products tend to do. Besides, what is more important, it protects the print from fading and moisture. A great solution for preventing inkjet prints smudging.
I needed to ensure that some labels I'd printed on photo -paper for home-made wine bottles would not run or smudge if handled or got damp. I discovered this Giant product and gave it a try, even though it seemed a little expensive. I was very pleased with the resutls. The labels are now very stable and do not smudge even if rubbed. I found that it was best to spray a very light film, keeping the nozzle about 18 inches from the subject. I discovered that it takes quite a few minutes to dry (it is sticky at first ) but when dry, the finish is very good.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Does what what I wanted it to do perfectly.
I have now used this on making titles 'permanent' on 5 'family' DVD''s that are each being sent to family members for Christmas. The product just worked - I usedf a one coat spray from about 18 inches away, left disk for one hour (although the disk seemed to have a dry coat after only 10 minutes!) and found that with a test with a wet cloth and a wipe over the surface that the inkjet details were waterproof.
