It works
The old three speed bike I got had this piece missing so I ordered it. It does the job but the cable hole is a tad larger than the regular city bike's brake cable so if you are using a thinner brake cable this pinch bolt can kink the cable while installing and adjusting. I cannot comment on it's longevity as the drum brake shoes turned out to be dead so I took it off the bike and installed a large arch rear brake instead. Anyway this should work fine with any old or modern drum brake-equipped internally geared bikes.

Cable climax...
I've used two of these on old Sturmey Archer hub brakes because the end to end factory finished cable wasn't compatible with my brake levers of choice. These also permit better cable length and use of frame mounted cable guides.
