These couplings are ideal and now the NEM is standard I have started replacing older couplings with this type. The only negative is that sometimes the plastic connecting into the socket does break due to wear. The other issue is that some wagons or coaches need a cranked hook rather than the straight one. Other than that, I am using this as the standard for all wagons and the outer connections for coaches, the inner ones being close couplers.

Used this type of coupling for years now. A find they rarely uncouple should their be any “bounce” due to track board being knocked. But easy enough to uncouple using either a track device or a narrow stick like hook. They were well packed for postage. An were undamaged in the post.
