Better sound without voiding your warranty
I have a 2017 S3 that came with the stock exhaust configuration. The test mule S3 that I drove had the resonator delete kit installed on it. After the comparison it was a no brainer. They all should have this delete kit installed, factory. The sound is not "louder", it is a "deeper" tone. In Comfort mode it is barely noticeable over stock. In Dynamic / Sport mode it is very audible. A muffler shop could chop up your exhaust and weld in a piece of generic pipe for a lot less, but this piece is the Audi OEM kit stamped with their serial numbers, etc. if your warranty is important, this is the best way to go without risking it. The dealerships bolt this part in after port delivery as an option. You can install it yourself in about 15-20 minutes with hand tools on a garage floor. Audi wants 1-2 hours of labor to do this for you.. it's post-sensor so there's not much you can mess up short of sledgehammering the pipe into a crumpled mess.
